Smoked Sausage Spaghetti Recipe

Smoked Sausage Spaghetti
This smoked sausage spaghetti is easy to prepare and makes for a great dinner. The smoked sausage is sliced and then fried in the pan before the sauce is prepared. The sauce is a combination of crushed tomatoes, wine, and various seasonings. Fresh parsley and basil are added to give this dish a nice and fresh flavor. I like to serve this recipe with garlic bread. Enjoy.

Smoked Sausage Spaghetti

Yield: 4 Servings

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 13 ounces smoked sausage (cut into slices)
  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 ½ teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • ½ cup red wine
  • ¾ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1lb spaghetti noodles
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley (chopped)
  • ¼ cup fresh basil (chopped)

 

Directions:

  1. Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a large deep skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage slices in a single layer and cook, turning once until browned on both sides. Remove from the skillet and place onto a plate lined with a paper towel to drain.  
  2. Add 3 tablespoons of oil to the skillet and increase the heat to medium-high. Add garlic and red pepper flakes. Stir around and cook for a few seconds. Add crushed tomatoes, wine, oregano, salt and stir. Reduce heat and simmer for 15-18 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Cook the spaghetti noodles according to package directions. Once the spaghetti has finished cooking, drain and add the spaghetti in with the sauce. Add the smoked sausage, parsley and basil and stir.

Tuna noodle casserole is very simple and easy to prepare. This recipe combines cooked egg noodles with cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, tuna, and peas. The casserole is topped off with shredded cheese and French fried onions for a nice crunch. You can use rotini in place of the egg noodles if you want. Tuna Noodle Casserole

Yield: 4 Servings

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups egg noodles
  • 1 (10 ¾ ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (10 ¾ ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (5 ounce) can tuna in water, drained
  • ½ cup frozen peas
  • 1-2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 ounces French fried onions (or more if desired)

 

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl mix together cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, tuna and peas. Stir the cooked egg noodles into the mixture until well combined.
  3. Place into a casserole dish and top with shredded cheese. Place into the oven and bake for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven after 25 minutes and top with French fried onions. Return to the oven and bake for 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown.

This is a recipe for manicotti with meat sauce that is baked in a casserole dish. The manicotti is stuffed with ricotta cheese, fresh oregano, and parmesan. The sauce is just a simple combination of ground beef, garlic, crushed tomatoes, and seasonings. The manicotti are topped off with a layer of shredded parmesan cheese. It is a little bit of work to stuff the cheese mixture into the manicotti shells but it is worth the effort. I like to serve this recipe with garlic bread. Enjoy.

Manicotti with Meat Sauce

Yield: 4 Servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 8-oz package manicotti (cooked, drained and cooled)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Kosher salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1 (24 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 18 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 2 large eggs (lightly beaten)
  • 1 lemon (zested)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano, plus more for garnish
  • 2 cups shredded parmesan cheese

 

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. In a sauté pan over medium-high heat brown the ground beef while breaking up into chunks with a wooden spoon. Add 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon ground black pepper and garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add the crushed tomatoes and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Keep warm.
  2. In a large bowl combine ricotta cheese, eggs, lemon zest, oregano and 1 cup of parmesan cheese. Mix well. Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce onto the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Spoon the ricotta mixture into each manicotti tube and place into the casserole dish. Top with meat sauce and sprinkle with remaining parmesan cheese.
  3. Place into the oven and bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly, 25 to 30 minutes. Top with fresh oregano for serving.

How to Make Buttered Noodles

If you are looking for a quick and easy side-dish to go with dinner, buttered noodles are perfect for you. The truth is if you want to know how to make butter noodles, the process is not very hard at all. Fettuccine is cooked and then tossed with butter, parmesan cheese and pepper. I like to top the buttered noodles with fresh parsley. You can certainly use other types of pasta such as linguini or spaghetti or whatever you have on hand. Enjoy.

How to make buttered noodles

Ingredients:

  • 1 (16 ounce) package fettuccine noodles
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • salt and ground black pepper (to taste)

Directions:

  1. Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil. Stir in the fettuccine, return to a boil and cook the pasta over medium heat until tender yet firm to the bite, about 8 to 10 minutes. Stir occasionally while cooking. Drain and return pasta to the pot.
  2. Mix butter, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper into the pasta until evenly combined.
