This refried bean dip is an excellent appetizer to prepare for parties. This dip is very easy to make and tastes delicious. The dip is served hot and baked in the oven. A lot of the flavor comes from taco seasoning. Preparing this dip is very easy, refried beans are mixed with taco seasoning, sour cream and cream cheese and then placed into a baking dish and topped with shredded cheese and baked to perfection. You can top this with delicious taco ingredients if you want such as lettuce, tomato and black olives. Serve with tortilla chips. Enjoy.

Refried Bean Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans refried beans
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups shredded Monterey jack cheese

 

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl mix together cream cheese and sour cream. Mix in refried beans until combined. Mix in taco seasoning until well combined.
  2. Spray a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Spread the bean mixture evenly onto the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle cheddar and Monterey jack cheese on top.
  3. Place into the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese has melted and is slightly browned. Serve with tortilla chips.

How to Make Texas Chili
If you have wondered how to make Texas style chili, it is not hard at all. This Texas chili recipe has no beans and consists of cubed steak and bacon. A lot of the flavor comes from various seasonings such as ancho chili powder, chipotle chili powder, cumin, and oregano. The bacon is cooked first and then the cubed steak is cooked right in the bacon grease for an amazing flavor. This is prepared on the stovetop and is simmered for about 2 hours. This is a perfect recipe to serve for the playoffs or the upcoming super bowl. This chili is great topped with cheddar cheese, sour cream and green onion. I served this chili with cornbread for dipping. Enjoy.

How to Make Texas Chili

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 (3 pound) boneless beef chuck roast, trimmed of fat and cut into 1 inch cubes
  • Kosher salt
  • 1 large onion (diced)
  • 2 jalapeno peppers (minced)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon ancho chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon chipotle chili powder
  • ½ tablespoon dried oregano
  • ½ tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • ½ cup lager beer
  • 32 ounces low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 cups water
  • Shredded cheddar (for serving)
  • Sour cream (for serving)
  • Chopped green onions (for serving)

 

Directions:

  1. In a large pot cook the bacon over medium-heat until crisp. Drain on a plate lined with paper towels.
  2. Add the beef cubes to the hot bacon fat and sear until browned on all sides. Season with salt, remove from the pot and set aside.
  3. Add the onion, jalapeno pepper, and garlic to the pot and cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Add the tomato paste, ancho chili powder, chipotle chili powder, oregano, and cumin. Stir until combined. Return the beef and bacon to the pot and add crushed tomatoes, beef, beef broth and water.
  4. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer. Simmer until the meat is tender, about 2 hours.
  5. Serve with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream and green onion.

Pizza Fries
Pizza fries are a quick and easy appetizer to prepare. This is more of an idea than a recipe and is perfect to serve for your Super Bowl party. Waffle fries are topped with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni and then served with pizza sauce. If you want you can put the sauce right on the fries before the cheese but I like my fries crispy so I used the sauce for dipping. No frying is required just bake the fries in the oven and then top with pizza ingredients. Enjoy.

Ingredients:

  • 1lb frozen waffle fries
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 12 pepperoni slices
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Directions:

  1. Cook the fries on a baking sheet according to package directions. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese and top with pepperoni slices. Return to the oven and bake at 350 degrees F. for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
  2. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with parsley and serve with pizza sauce for dipping.

These mozzarella sticks are great because they are coated with crushed Doritos. If you are looking for a delicious appetizer for serve for game day or the upcoming Super Bowl, this recipe is perfect for you. Mozzarella sticks are coated with flour, then dipped in egg and then coated with crushed Doritos and fried. The best way to crush the Doritos is to put them in a food processor or blender. Serve with marinara sauce. Enjoy.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups nacho cheese Doritos
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs (lightly beaten)
  • 8 mozzarella cheese sticks
  • Oil (for deep-frying)
  • Marinara sauce (for dipping)

 

Directions:

  1. Place the Doritos in a food processor and process until they resemble breadcrumbs. If you don’t have a food processor, you can place them in a bag and crush them using a rolling pin.
  2. Cut the cheese sticks in half, making 16 cheese sticks total.
  3. Add the flour to a plate or pie dish. In a bowl add the beaten eggs. In another plate or shallow pie dish add the crushed Doritos.
  4. Coat the cheese sticks first in the flour, then dip in the egg and then roll in the crushed Doritos. Repeat with the remaining cheese sticks.
  5. Heat oil in a large pot to 375 degrees F. Cook the cheese sticks in batches for about 1-2 minutes. They will cook fast, be careful not to burn them. Drain on a plate lined with paper towels.
